About UncorkValue

The problem: Great wine shouldn't require a sommelier degree to find. Most people either overpay for brands they recognize or miss hidden gems sitting right next to them on the shelf.

Our solution: We scan real inventory and prices from local retailers, then cross-reference every wine with ratings from professional critics (Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, James Suckling, Decanter) and community platforms (Vivino, CellarTracker). Our algorithm identifies wines where the quality significantly exceeds what you'd expect for the price.

How the Value Score Works

Each wine gets a composite rating from all available sources, weighted toward professional critics. We divide that by the store price to get a Value Score — higher means more quality per dollar.

We also flag data confidence — if a wine's vintage is too new for critics to have reviewed, we'll tell you. We'd rather be honest than inflate a score with mismatched data.
